Golden Mousetrap Awards Now Accepting Entries for Top Products

The Golden Mousetrap Awards, now in its 14th year, is accepting entries for recognition of exceptional, cutting-edge products in four technical categories. 

The awards celebrate the return and renaissance of manufacturing in North America by honoring those companies and people who are making it possible. The product categories include:

Automation and Control
Design Tools: Hardware and Software
Electronics and Test
Materials and Assembly

Within these categories, there are 16 subcategories of products. To be eligible, all products must be commercially available in the United States—able to be ordered or purchased—between September 1, 2014, and October 1, 2015. The deadline for entries is November 15, 2015.

Finalists in each category will be announced in early January 2016, and the winners will be revealed in a live ceremony on February 9, 2016, in conjunction with Pacific Design & Manufacturing, ATX West, Electronics West, WestPack, PLASTEC West, MD&M West, and Quality Expo in Anaheim.

Finalists and winners will receive coverage in the UBM Canon family of media sources, including Design News, Packaging Digest, Plastics Today, MD+DI.

Also at the ceremony, Design News will recognize a Rising Engineering Star (in partnership with Mouser Electronics), and the Gadget Freak of the Year (in partnership with Allied Electronics). And Design News will present a Lifetime Achievement Award, to an engineer who has made extraordinary contributions during his or her career. Admission to the ceremony is free, but donations are requested to benefit FIRST, an organization providing youth programs and scholarships in science and technology.
